This is the first week open for U-Pick Peaches. We return to a favorite peach grove we visited in 2002, Jossy Farms.
Just as before, they are waiting and ready for all pickers. Such a smooth process, which with kids does help make the outing more enjoyable. They do require pickers to bring their own containers but at $.88 a lb., it is a bargain.
We picked 24 lbs. of peaches. I made five quart jars of quartered peaches in ultra-light syrup, froze 10 cups on sliced peaches, and made one casserole of peach cobbler. The kitchen held the aroma of peaches for several days.
